Thoughts While ShavingWeekends for senior citizens are for going to church on Sunday … visits from family … maybe just a call, but enough to remind us we are important to them, as they are to us … A good time to spend some time reminiscing…

A few reminders…
Monday is the last day of July, August begins Tuesday…

High School football practice begins Monday, actually conditioning begins, then put on the pads…

A reminder from our friends at the Bladen County Solid Waste sites related to some slight scheduled interruptions for the coming week … Some scheduled repairs may cause a few disruptions … All convenience sites will be operating on their regular hours, no changes, no disruptions … However, the transfer station at the landfill site near Elizabethtown will be undergoing some repairs beginning at 12 noon Wednesday, August 2nd and continuing thru Friday, August 4th … Transfer station only … Everything else will be operating on a normal schedule…

A nice article in the Greater Fayetteville Business Journal related to the Live, Work, Play site, planned for the local industrial park in Elizabethtown … Worth a read … Google their site…

Read an article related to the US debt … Can’t help but believe that sooner or later the debt will cause some major problems … and for the record, both political parties are to blame … Didn’t just begin…

Today is Church Day … If you are not a regular attendee, new to the area, maybe a visitor looking for a place to worship … I think/believe you will get a warm welcome at the church of your choice … in Bladen County.

Mostly sunny today in the area … High temps in the 93 degree range with a heat index as high as 101 … A slim chance of rain … 20%. Partly cloudy tonight, with a low around 72 and a 30% chance of rain after 2 p.m. Monday, mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Same general forecast thru next Saturday…

Had a nice note from a fellow retired senior citizen I seldom see … that reminded me that many retirees never forget their routines and relationships … Some retire due to health issues … some because they can … Retirement requires adjustment … Not all enjoy full-time hunting, fishing, cleaning house, watching TV and, for many, their health is the real reason for stepping aside…
