Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Ever have a day when all day long the mood swings were from high to low and back again? Met with noontime friends for lunch, attended a funeral for a dear Saint, mingled with long-time friends who I do not see on a regular basis … Later traveled to Clinton, most peaceful travel in a long time … Kinda rehashed the day … Set cruise control between 55-59 and not sure I had to tap the brakes, except for slow down in Garland … I am among men, most richly blessed … Kinda at peace with the world … As I returned home, saw a beautiful sunset … The life of an old ‘poot’ … doesn’t take much to keep one in a half-way good mood … The only downer was losing a long time friend, but she was ready … Loving family, many friends and under a hot sun, comforting thoughts from her pastor…

One downer, later learned I lost another classmate … too many former ’56 Bulldogs … a good human being and friend … and for most of our 12 years of grade school we were in many of the same classes … I am not complaining, at my age, I repeat … I am among men most richly blessed…

Sorry, kinda carried away with me … How about your day? Doing OK?

I think back to years ago, bagging groceries and delivering for Hinson’s Super Market in Bladenboro … JZ and Sally … good folks … thinking about how much I wanted to work at a radio station … and I did … 20 years, loved it…

Sorry, another relapse … kinda lost in thoughts … A storm is on the way…

Checking the weather forecast for our area … A slight chance of showers and thundershowers after 11 a.m. today. Mostly sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning with gusts as high as 15 mph and a 20% chance of rain…

Tropical storm possible by tomorrow (Thursday). Chance of rainfall 60% tonight, 90% on Thursday, 60% Thursday night … Be prepared for wind and rain … hopefully not damaging…
