Don’t know about others, but I thought we dodged some bad weather over the past 24 to 48 hours … Checked rainfall at three locations in the county, Tar Heel, Kelly and Elizabethtown … All reporting stations recorded from a little over 2 inches to near 4 depending on location … It was windy, but not bad for a storm…

Rainfall recorded over the past 7 days at Tar Heel was 3.43 inches, the Kelly site recorded 2.16 inches and between 3 & 4 inches in the Elizabethtown area … amounts varied based on location…

The storm has departed … Forecast for today is for a chance of rain and thunderstorms, mainly after 4 p.m. with a high temp near 91. Windy, with gusts as high as 15 mph and a 30% chance of rain, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Actually, same type forecast for the next couple of days thru Sunday night. Sunny skies early next week and highs in the lower 90s.

A reminder of Fun Day Saturday at Elizabethown Middle School. Larrell Murchison and several other NFL players will be at Elizabethtown Middle School for a Community Funday … It’s free from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Murchison, #91 defensive lineman for the Tennessee Titans team … You are invited…

#2 son drives a Food Lion truck and had to make a ‘run’ to near Norfolk last night … ran back into the storm … tough drive.

COVID 19 vaccine still available … Contact the Bladen County Health Department … Yep, had mine several weeks ago … I love living…

“Vaccines are safe, effective and lifesaving.” Alex Azar

“Vaccines are the tugboats of preventive health.” William Foege

“You can’t save kids just with vaccines.” Melinda Gates
