Thoughts While Shaving

Remember your graduation ceremonies? Remember how you celebrated? … I do and I do. Graduation ceremonies were at the Bladenboro High School auditorium and went to work full-time next day at Hinson’s Supermarket. I had been working for Mr. and Mrs. HInson for about 3 years prior, part-time…

Response to my ‘Thoughts’ yesterday was interesting … Several had worked at locally owned food stores at some time in the past … Today, very few locally owned grocery stores in the area…

We had lots of rain last evening! Not sure how wide spread it was … I checked National Weather station at the local airport … Rainfall at that location was 65 hundredths of an inch, mostly between 10 p.m. and midnight. And another brief shower shortly after 6 a.m. this morning.

Our forecast today is for showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 89 and a 60% chance or more rain today. More of the same tonight … again a 60% chance. Friday our chance or rain is 70%, with a high near 89 and windy.

We have a pretty good chance or rain thru Saturday night. Sunny skies Sunday with highs in the 87 degree range … 90 degrees Monday … We still need the rain … Corn in our area looking good…

More tobacco in our area than in recent years … Remember when our economy depended greatly on the weed?

Surprised at the low number of local folks who have been vaccinated for COVID-19. Numbers I saw for Bladen were in the low 30% range … If you are ready to be vaccinated, contact the Bladen County Health Department. Vaccine is apparently readily available…
