Thankful for the rainfall. Most areas, could use more. Forecast includes a 40% chance today, and 80% chance for Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Crops looking better, especially corn.

Father’s Day Sunday, lest you forget.

Congratulations, one more time, to graduates at every level. For those going into the work place, should be more opportunities than ever. So impressed with youngsters who do dual enrollment and graduate from high school with a two-year degree from Bladen Community College. And, BCC has so much to offer for those interested in entering the work force.

New York Yankees have announced their rookie rosters. Sincere Smith, East Bladen alum, is listed as an infielder on the Gulf Coast League West Roster. The 19 year old was drafted in the 32nd round of the 2018 draft.

MacKenzie Gore, 2018 #1 draft pick of the San Diego Padres, was recently named to the All-Star team in the California League. The Columbus County left-handed pitcher had a tough rookie season, blisters on his pitching hand, but has overcome all obstacles and is having a great year. Many expect he could be moving up to Double A soon.

Thanks to Charlotte Smith and company for providing a great source for local news, sports, ag news, obits and so much more on a daily basis at BladenOnline, zero cost to readers.
