Thoughts While Shaving for June 11

Seems to me a great deal of confusion on airlines over the past few weeks and months. No place for bad behavior, 30,000 feet above earth … by passengers or staff. Just thinking out loud…

The NWS site at the local Curt Brown airport recorded over an inch of rainfall around midnight, last night … Add that to what we had during the day yesterday, if my math is correct between 1.25 and 1.5 inches of rain, total … Corn looking good … Amount varies greatly when it is primarily during thunderstorms…

A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms today … Partly sunny, with a high near 88 and windy … 60% chance or rain tonight. Low around 71.

Larrell Murchison looking forward, no doubt, to his 2nd NFL season … but he hasn’t forgotten his local friends. He is sponsoring a Community Fun Day at Elizabethtown Middle School July 10 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. His special guest, in addition to the locals, will include Alim McNeill (Detroit Lions), James Smith Williams (Washington NFL team} and DJ Williams (Minnesota Vikings). Murchison is a second year defensive lineman for the Tennessee Titans. He is a former East Bladen Eagle, a graduate of Louisburg College and NC State University. A big man with a big heart … Thanks…

Clarkton Dixie Youth folks will be hosting the 2021 Dixie Youth coach-pitch state tournament July 2-July 6 … Games daily … more later.

Rode to Lumberton recently … think I dealt with 2 or 3 road closures … all repairs and much needed … NC 211 and NC 242.

Anxious to see the new Bladenboro, coming soon. Lots of work behind the scene … takes time … remember what my mom would say when we had no patience … Rome was not built in a day … Didn’t understand as a youngster … Takes lots of planning and then construction before the final product.

“The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.” Arnold H. Glasow
