Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingWelcome to my world.  Won’t you come on in?  Miracles, I guess, still happen now and then.  Remember this old, great song from the ’60s.  First recorded by Jim Reeves, later Elvis, Eddy Arnold, Ricky Nelson and more.

First day in a while with no school planned, drive carefully, youngsters all around, full of energy, looking for something to do.

Had a great weekend.  A party for grandson and his bride-to-be at White Lake.  Rain stopped just in time for outside party.

Up early today, received bad news.  A cousin that was for many years my favorite cousin, Wayne Davis, a relative of many in this area, (Bladenboro and Tar Heel), died in Enterprise, Alabama, yesterday after an extended illness.  He was my hero at an early age.  He was about four years older than me.  I received many of his hand-me-downs, including my first white dress shirt.  He was a helicopter pilot in one of the military conflicts, crashed, suffered serious injuries, overcame them and worked for years with the US Post Office. He settled down in Enterprise, raised a family and lived a model life.

The news media are, for the most part, the bringers of bad news….and it’s not entirely the media’s fault, sadly, bad news gets higher ratings.
