Thoughts While ShavingThis promises to be a busy week for many.

Bladen County Commissioners meet tonight at 6:30 PM for regular meeting and will likely schedule at least one more budget workshop prior to the end of the month.  The budget must be approved before July 1.  Tonight’s meeting will be held at the usual meeting place, in the commissioners meeting room in the basement of the courthouse.  It is open to the public.

Tomorrow evening, the annual meeting of the Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce will be held at Lu Mil.  Numerous awards will be presented.  The speaker will be Kenny Flowers, Assistant Secretary of Rural Economic Development.  Reservations are required, cut off date June 18 and the cost is $25 per person.  Social at 6:30 PM.  Dinner and program at 7 PM.

Next week, Sunset Jam Series resumes on Tuesday, June 26th, at Goldston’s Beach and the Committee of 100 will hold their annual meeting at Cape Fear Vineyard.  Membership is $100, includes banquet and you may bring a friend for an additional $15.  Contact the Bladen County EDC office for details.
