San Diego Padres defeated Philadelphia Phillies last night, 1-0. MacKenzie Gore pitched 6 strong innings … allowed no runs, 3 harmless hits, 4 strikeouts and 4 base on balls … He did not get the win, but strong outing after getting knocked-around previous 2 outings…

Former Fairmont Golden Tornado William McGirt, PGA pro, still trying to come back after a couple of hip surgeries, made the cut in this weeks event, tied with 15 others at -4. Leader is Xander Schauffele with a 5 stroke lead going into the 3rd round of play at the Travelers tournament in Cromwell, Connecticut. I’m pulling for McGirt to have a good couple of days and take home lots of cash.

How many soft drinks can you recall from your time as a youngster … Coke, Pepsi, Grape Ade or was it Aid? RC Cola, Orange Crush, Dr. Pepper, and others…

A reminder of the reverse raffle and meal late today at East Bladen. Someone will win a nice pot of money, enjoy a delicious meal and see many friends … Eating early, raffle follows, apparently several other events tonight. See you at East Bladen later today … ’bout 4:30 p.m. or soon after.

Stock market good yesterday…

Sunny and hot is our weather forecast. High near 92 … Mostly clear tonight, low around 65, sunny Sunday, with a high near 92. Next best chance of rain … Monday night thru next Friday … 30 to 50% chance just about every day.
