Guess you could say we dodged a real storm, yesterday. Others were not as fortunate … Could have been much worse … I am old enough to remember Hurricane Hazel. The year was 1954 and there was no sophisticated National Weather Service to warn us … Maybe there was a service, but not good at the local level, at RFD 2, Bladenboro.

COVID-19 kills … A longtime acquaintance died recently, after a short illness and another is in an area hospital. Has been there several weeks, hopefully making progress … Not sure I understand folks not interested in getting a shot … To each his/her own … I am responsible for me. I give advice sparingly, and seldom if, not requested … Best I drop that ‘train of thought’.

There will be a White Lake Water Festival this year, according to numerous sources … Remember when it was the Blueberry Festival????

Some conversation related to a fund-raiser for Bladen We Care … Nothing to report, just rumors … It was PPD last year … Proceeds support so many local individuals … who need a little help … mostly due to health issues…

Can’t imagine changes coming to Bladenboro, demolition of old buildings could begin in a few weeks … Hopefully, making way for new businesses that will be the beginning of more local services available … I remember when it was a thriving business area … My first public job was in Bladenboro … a long time ago…
