Woke up thinking about the world we live in and how we complicate matters….
Another casualty in the presidential race, Dr. Carson has apparently decided to halt his campaign after failing to gain traction. He was an early leader in the polls…probably to much of a gentlemen….Other candidates move on to Michigan for another debate. Sometimes I think they should act like adults, but they are adults, acting like ‘spoiled’ youngsters.
Many have an explanation why they think Donald Trump has been able to hold onto the #1 position in the Republican primaries. Here is mine. Voters are fed up with members of both political parties, tired of electing folks who “toe the line” for the political party bosses, frustrated with the folks with the ‘big bucks’ calling the shots, tired of the gridlock in Congress, tired of a lack of leadership in the White House, tired and fed up with all. Trump is an outsider offering lots of conversation, but few details. To be honest, the only thing I know about Trump, he has promised to build a wall between the US and Mexico. He may be the best of them all. I do not know.
I also believe the average citizen is tired of political games by both parties at the state level…. including a failure by both parties in such areas as redrawing congressional districts lines, tired of Dems and Reps helping draw the lines, then announce their candidacy, after lines appeared to be drawn with a candidate in mind, and it didn’t just begin. Come on, assign the project to most any 7th grade class and let the youngsters do it. The party out of power always objects and promises something better, but when they arrive, nothing changes….
I was taught at an early age that if I was stopped by a law enforcement officer, I should obey their commands, and respect them. Not saying they are all perfect, but, if I am placed under arrest and decide to “run” or challenge them, I would expect they would stop me one way or the other….The officers are ‘charged’ to carry out the laws of the land, to protect us all and when someone fails to do as told, the public blames the law enforcement officers…
I am also supportive of “rooting out’ bad officers as well, if they are in fact…bad.
Every day we hear of friends suffering from medical problems….or we know folks dealing with tough issues, sometime issues they have caused. None among us are exempt or perfect. We have all been there, may be dealing with such an issue now. Reach out for help, or offer assistance.
It takes a day to find a friend, a moment to lose them but a lifetime to forget them.
