Thoughts While ShavingEver just begin to hum a song, not sure what or why? … One of my most recent … ‘Count Your Many Blessings Name Them One By One’ … brings back memories over the years, youngster on the back row at Zion Hill Baptist Church north of Bladenboro. Either Rev. Pete Lingle or Rev. J. C. Shaw, two of my favorites pastors, in charge … think both have been deceased for many years. My mom would be happy to know that I listened and retained some of what was said, even on the back row.

Great time last evening, Clark Bros. Annual Shad Fry at White Lake … Food is always great, and fellowship is wonderful. Just wish I could remember more names. As we meet and greet, so many great memories, oh yes, and the cooks are the best … Shad, catfish … hushpuppies, slaw … Always thankful for the invitation.

A reminder of the White Lake Water Festival, begins a week from today. Will be a great event. Yes, the lake is great … see the white sand through the crystal clear water, thanks for asking.

Bladenboro Rotary Club Annual Golf Tournament upcoming … Proceeds are used for scholarships for seniors at West Bladen High School. Details coming soon.

I remember how difficult it was as a student to attempt to ‘keep it all together’ as we approached the end of the school year.

For years, the sports page was what I glanced at first, later the news, more recently the Obit page. Just checking.
