Thoughts While Shaving

‘Bout this time of the year … as church-goers, we would be saluting Mothers on their special day … youngest mother, oldest mom and who had the most children … and we would salute our high school seniors, may include college seniors if there were those among us. … These are anything but normal times…

I kinda like photos of seniors scattered throughout the areas … At least we are reminded … At many churches, high school seniors are recognized, maybe presented a bible and a few brief comments about the graduate. … I miss that … Hope we don’t forget when the time is right…

Next special day of note … Memorial Day, a couple of weeks away … Would like to think we are nearing the end of the COVID-19 outbreak, but only time will tell … One thing I am convinced of … can’t rush it…

Budget time for local government officials. … No doubt, this year’s process will be painful. … Sales tax revenues are down with businesses operating less, or closed, and needs will be greater, lots of folks seeking assistance … I know, we hear that annually, but more truth than fiction this year…

Federal government has provided more stimulus funds, as has the state … but none can replace all lost by folks out of work, or working less … and still facing the same bills…

OK, it’s Monday … How can we make this week better than the past few weeks? Not sure…

As a retiree, with too much time on my hands, too little energy, I will be happy when ‘live’ sports returns on TV, fans or no fans. … Tired of reruns…

Oh well, this too will end … sometime … I hope and pray.
