The National Association of Letter Carriers is sponsoring Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive tomorrow … 31st Annual … Rural mail carriers will be picking up food left in bags or boxes at mailboxes across America … to be shared with the less fortunate … The date again is Saturday, May 13 … (tomorrow).
Our family has been getting together on Thursday evenings for many, many years … share a meal and generally stay in touch with all … 6 with spouses … usually 4 or 5 couples and a friend or two … Over the past few weeks I have observed there are less folks at the restaurants … can’t help but think inflation is the biggest culprit … and understandable … Can’t blame the restaurant operators … Cost of everything continues to rise … and it is passed on to consumers…
Have noticed some of the most reckless vehicle operators in a while … Yesterday, one small pickup operating at a much slower pace than the speed limit … 5 or 6 vehicles behind it … I have no idea how long they had followed, I joined late … but some eventually passed on a curve … a no, no … Same vehicle traveling at reduced speed on a roadway with a turning lane … At least one passed near a school site, in the turning lane … Patience, Lord help us all…
Traffic over Cape Fear River (701 near Elizabethtown) has some issues … Constant changes … we all need to be aware … and use our patience … and sometimes we have little to none … Real people working hard to solve all the issues…
