Gov. Cooper is expected to update the status of the recovery of COVID-19 today or tomorrow. … Not about to guess changes … but do guarantee whatever the decision, some will not be happy. … Some hopeful of a quicker return to normal, some concerned too many changes, too soon. … Stats I saw some place indicates that about 7% of those tested are positive, however, more are being tested…

Scrolling thru the Internet recently and discovered one huge concern related to COVID-19 is public bathrooms … hadn’t thought of that. … One suggestion was to have a ‘bathroom monitor’…

Congratulations to Dr. Robert P. Taylor, Bladen County School Superintendent since 2011. He was recently appointed by Gov. Cooper to the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching. He serves on an Advisory Council for both the Dean of the School of Education at Fayetteville State University and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He also serves on the State Board of Education’s Whole Community School Child Advisory Council, working to create policy for the coordination of services between public schools and public agencies.

Had a fair amount of rain over the past 72 hours … not sure of totals, but an inch or more at the Hester household … all is welcomed at this time in the growing season.

Today’s forecast … A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. High near 72 … Windy with gusts up to 17 mph … 90% chance of rain with new amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. Expect about the same type weather for the next couple of days…

Saturday and Sunday should be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid 80s.
