And the rain came down, and more is expected…

Rainfall at the Curtis Brown Airport weather station in Elizabethtown totaled 1.78 inches between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 5 a.m. today, and more is expected … Forecast for today (Thursday) … Showers and possibly a thunderstorm … High near 80. East wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 17 mph. Chance of rain is 50%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Similar forecast thru Friday night, and a 30% chance of rain on Saturday and Saturday night. Sunny on Sunday with a high near 85 and similar forecast for Monday (Memorial Day).

If you gave up on the NASCAR race last evening due to weather … Denny Hamlin won the rain-shortened race. … Balance of the top 5 … Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Brad Keselowski, and Erik Jones.

Xfinity Series race begins at noon today in Darlington … and Coca-Cola 600 scheduled for Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

N.C. Governor Cooper announced he is moving to phase 2 of his planned return to ‘normal’ … as of 5 p.m. Friday (tomorrow) … some happy, some disappointed, and some apparently do not care…

Fairfield, Alabama filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection Tuesday … a rare step. … Hope that does not happen in North Carolina. … That’s why towns, cities and counties maintain fund balances capable of ‘getting thru the tough times’.

And speaking of getting thru the tough times … no doubt many local businesses are sufferin’ as tough times continue. … Better, but not back to normal. … Support local businesses. … They deserve our support…

If you can dream it, you can achieve it.

If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything.

Never, never, never, give up.
