Several notes of interest … Rainfall totals over the past 24 hours, from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m. appear to be in the range of 1.5 to 2.0 inches, totals could vary greatly. Wind gusts from 17 to 20 mph at the Curt Brown Airport National Weather Station. Thought some were higher, but that is what was recorded … over the same 24 hour period.

Mostly cloudy gradually becoming sunny today with a high near 74. West wind around 9 mph, with gusts as high as 17 mph.

Looking ahead to Mother’s Day … forecast … Sunny, with a high near 70.

Governor Cooper has moved to phase 1 of a return to normalcy … Still can’t get a haircut … but I can visit White Lake … Not complaining, I do not want to do anything that will cause the virus to continue one more day. Still think it will not end until there is medication, and apparently several pharma companies are working overtime to create drugs that will halt or cure the killer disease. Phase 1 is effective Friday, 5 p.m.

I am not a huge fan of virtual meetings, but do admit, it is not a bad way to do business without the possibility of spreading the disease…

At 80 plus, thought I had seen just about everything … but discovered COVID-19 is different from anything I have ever seen or heard of…

It’s not just paper products that have disappeared from retail outlets in the area … many vacant shelves throughout the stores.

I have some toilet tissue I am seriously considering using as sandpaper … just a thought … Oh, I’m fine … have a few rolls of the good ‘stuff’ as well…
