A fundraiser is planned for Glen Simmons Saturday at the Bladenboro Historical Building. Volunteers will be cooking and serving BBQ Saturday, November 19 from 4 to 7 p.m., also cakes and a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit Mr. Simmons who was seriously injured recently in a vehicle accident. He has been released from hospital, and is recuperating at home … expected to be a fairly long-time situation. All are invited to the fundraiser, donations are also welcomed … No one, no one does a better job of taking care of their own than the Bladenboro folks … Hope to see you there…
Basketball season begins at our local public schools … East Columbus at East Bladen this afternoon and evening, first game 4:30 … West Bladen was scheduled to play at North Brunswick, that game ppd. until December 21.
Had some issues with a computer this AM … Think it has a mind of its own … All is well … fingers crossed … Reminds me of an older gentlemen many years ago who lived near us and worked at Bladenboro Cotton Mill, first shift. Someone asked about his vehicle … his answer was … When I walked to work every day, I know when to begin … now with my vehicle, I begin earlier … not sure if I will be walking or riding…
