I was a successful candidate for Bladen County Commissioner … Served 8 years … Never ran again … I served with several distinguished officials … All deceased today, except me … Thankful for the experience … cured my desire to serve in an elected position … forever and ever…
One more thought about my experience in politics. Years and years ago, there were no computers … Ballots were counted by hand, sometimes until the wee early hours … One, Two, Three, Four, Tally … One pulling the ballots and 2 recording … Not saying it was better, but less conflict…
