A Family Reunion is planned for 11 AM today for the Monroe & Edith Martilla Hester family. Will be held at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, located on Center Road north of Bladenboro. Family members are encouraged to attend and bring a covered dish.
A reminder of the Annual Meeting of Star Telephone at Bladen Community College Auditorium. It begins at 10 AM today and all members are encouraged to attend.

The Bladen County Educational Foundation meets Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the Bladen County Board of Education meeting room at 5:30 PM. The meeting is open to all.
East Bladen Football team defeated Heidi Trask 28-14 to conclude regular season play with a 7-4 record. The Eagles will be anxiously waiting the NCHSAA Class 2A play-off pairings to be announced this afternoon. Coach Robbie Priest and the players are hopeful of hosting the first game. They finished 3rd in conference play.
West Bladen completed regular season play with a 2-9 record. The got off to a 2-0 start under the direction of new coach Todd Pait, but were unable to better that record.
Yes, I must admit I missed broadcasting games, but after 50 years, just time to call it quits. And, the fact that there was no FM station close by to partner with, made the decision easy.
