Elizabethtown Pork & Beats Festival Friday and Saturday … taking place at Cape Fear Farmer’s Market, 106 MLK Drive … Up to 20 teams will be competing for the best BBQ. The event is sanctioned by the North Carolina Pork Council. Entry fee is $75 per team. 1st place is worth $1,250 and a trophy … 2nd place $750 and a trophy and 3rd place $500 and a trophy. When the judging is over, the pork will be chopped, prepared for BBQ plates and available at 11 AM … chopped BBQ, green beans, slaw and a roll. … Numerous activities are planned for children, crafts, vendors and music by the Black Water Rhythm and Blues Band. … For more info on the cookoff, click here.
