Guess I sound like a broken record … but that’s OK. Filing for various political offices upcoming. For many years, filing was in January, primary in May and General Election in November. Legislature changed filing and primary, thinking that North Carolina may make a difference at the national level (presidential primary). New dates … filing in December and primary moved up to March, General Election remains in November.
So … if you are thinking about offering yourself for a political office, filing begins at noon on December 2 and ends noon on December 20. Questions????, direct them to the Bladen County Board of Elections … call or stop by, located behind the US Post Office in Elizabethtown … 301 Cypress Street.
