A quick look at the weather … past and future…

Yesterday’s high temp was a nice 69 degrees … The temp dropped into the low 50s overnight…

Happy Thanksgiving Day … I know the table is set … and more great food for family and friends … But, before we check the turkey … a look at the forecast for today … Showers are likely with thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a high near 71 … breezy, gusts as high as 22 mph … Chance of rain … 60% for our area.

Tonight, a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 7 p.m and 4 a.m. Mostly cloudy with a low around 41 degrees … Just a 20% chance of precipitation.

Friday (tomorrow), very nice … but a little cooler … Mostly sunny with a high near 51 … Lows Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday … in the mid 20s … brrrrr!

Interesting day on the stock market for my wealthy friends … Up big time Tuesday … gave some back yesterday (Wednesday) … All in all … not bad…

Elizabethtown Christmas Parade thru downtown Elizabethtown … Begins at 4 p.m. Sunday, December 1.

Bladen County Commissioners meet Monday evening … 6:30 p.m. in the courthouse…

Elizabethtown Town Council meeting, also on Monday … at Town Hall at 7 p.m Regular monthly meeting.

By all means, check our Upcoming Events info … Festival of Lights begins the season … Friday night, November 29…

Now … all about Thanksgiving dinner … All over the county, families, church groups and others coming together to celebrate Thanksgiving … and we have so much to be thankful for…

Give thanks for the 3 individuals freed recently by Russia … actually a swap … Can’t imagine the feeling of their families and friends…

And while we celebrate and eat more than we should, let us never forget others around us, across the US and more, that some will go to bed hungry tonight…

Our family will be sharing time and food with others of our extended family … Thanks for those doing the heavy-lifting … We are all blessed … and we will be celebrating the first Christmas season with a recent great-granddaughter…
