Thoughts While ShavingThe Thanksgiving holiday is in the past, we hopefully return to a normal schedule, then Christmas and New Years.

Rain is in our forecast over the next two or three days, and we need it.  A quick check with the National Weather Service indicates we have had about a half inch or less of rain over the past 30 days, 12 to 20 inches over the past 60 days and 15 to 30 inches over the past 90 days.  Feast or famine.  Rainfall totals are expected to be in the range of 1/4 to hopefully an inch by Wednesday night.

For those who make New Year Resolutions, time to check on progress, about 33 days remaining in 2016.

Looking back, I remember my days in the Elizabethtown Jaycees, one special event stands out.  It was a Christmas party for children who were invited based on information from some of the local social organizations that deal with needy youngsters, Social Service, schools, etc.  One youngster was ask why his brother did not attend, his answer floored us,  They only had one pair of shoes between them, so only one could attend.  Bet that is still the case for many.  Look around, check with teachers or social workers, we all can make a difference in a youngsters life.  Doesn’t matter the circumstances.  These children did not get to choose their place of residence.  You and I can make a difference.  I will if you will.

Carolina Panthers season ticket holders must be disappointed.  From Super Bowl to the outhouse.

What do you think about the Green Party calling for a recount in states where the vote was close?  Did Russia influence?  What do you think President-Elect Trump would be doing if he had lost?   Just thinking out loud.

If con is the opposite of pro, then isn’t Congress the opposite of progress?
