Yesterday was a beautiful day … High temp near 75 degrees … Overnight low … mid to upper 50s under partly cloudy skies…

Another beautiful day today … Sunny with a high in the low 80s and nice breeze in the AM. Partly cloudy tonight with a low near 60 degrees…

Looking ahead to Wednesday, a slight chance of showers after 1 p.m. … High in the low 80s … Chance of rain … 20% … increasing to 40% Wednesday night…

Hope all goes as planned for the election today … Polls open across the county for the convenience of all … Will take a few extra hours to count all the ballots … Lots of interest…

Be nice to all … it is just an election … and not a life or death situation … We will get through it all…

Over the years, I always enjoyed campaigning, the election, the tallying of votes … Nothing like seeking public office … I did, in the 70s and 80s … served 8 years on the Board of Commissioners … Can’t please all, but all need to be heard … It was mostly fun … Great experience … Can’t please everyone, but do the best you can … Most folks understand, and appreciate…

Will take some time to work through this election … The turnout among the largest ever in the state … maybe the nation…

One really special event … Pleasant Grove Independent Church is sponsoring a community-wide Fish Fry Saturday at their location … 2039 Pleasant Grove Church Road, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. … To honor so many who have done so much … It’s free … and all are invited … I know, sounds too good to be true … just the facts…

Looking ahead … briefly … Veterans Day is upcoming … A reminder, all solid waste sites will be open as usual … The transfer station will be closed … for one day only…

Regardless of the winners and losers in the election … We should be happy to have the system we have … people who are willing to offer themselves to serve … About half who vote will not feel like winners … this is the USA … There’s always a next election … We have survived for years … and no reason why we should not, cannot move forward by supporting the winners … I know … Not easy…
