Folks getting antsy about Tuesday’s election … Votes still being counted … So many voting by mail, so many states with different deadlines, rules and regulations … Will be happy when it’s over and we can all settle down and know who our leader will be … Pray for all…

Bladen County Solid Waste will be operating on their normal schedule, 7AM to 7 PM on Wednesday, November 11, Veterans Day. The transfer station will be closed. Normal operations will resume on Thursday, November 12 … FYI.

Bladen County Commissioners meet Monday, November 9th, regular meeting. Again, the meeting will be held in the Superior Courtroom, located on the second floor or the Bladen County Courthouse. Meeting time is 6:30 PM. A special meeting to discuss budget matters will begin at 5 PM.

Newly elected commissioners and re-elected board members will be sworn in at the 1st meeting in December … Newly elected commissioners include former commissioner, Mark Gillespie (D) and newcomers, Rodney Hester (R), Danny L. Ellis II (R), Cameron McGill (R), and incumbents Ophelia Munn-Goins (D), Ray Britt (R) and G. Michael Cogdell (D). Other members of the 9 member board will include incumbents Charles Ray Peterson (R) and Arthur Bullock (D).
