A sad note to pass along … Longtime baseball coach in Columbus County … Linwood Hedgpeth passed away Wednesday night. He was also American Legion coach for Columbus County … and the Bladen County area … Numerous young men sharpened their skills under his watchful eye … He was recently inducted into the NC Sports Hall of Fame … Unable to make the trip … a well deserved honor. His health had been failing for some time … Check arrangements on our Obit page … (Worthington Funeral Home, Chadbourn. NC.
