A brief check of the weather … past, current and future…

High temp over past 24 hours … 82 degrees … no rain … Low temp overnight … mid 60s

Wednesday (today), patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, partly sunny with a high near 81. Wednesday night … Mostly clear with a low around 63.

Thursday … Mostly sunny with a high near 83 … and more of the same over the next 4 or 5 days…

So, how about the latest political debate?

Been there and done that … but never as personal as it has been in recent years…

Switching gears briefly … The most recent storm has caused more damage than I recall in a long time … Oh yes, I remember those that came our way … but, our neighbors in the western part of the state are strugglin’ … right now. Many locals are volunteering, providing necessities … including water, drinking water … Many from Bladen County … People in our area are stepping up … quietly contributing … Do Unto Others…

Anyone remember Hurricane Hugo … 35 years ago … Great damage in South Carolina before coming ashore in North Carolina … Sunset Beach, Holden and Yaupon Beach … Long Beach and on and on…

Hurricane Hazel came calling in 1954 … and there have been others…
