Another hot day forecast for today, tomorrow and Friday. Today’s high expected to in the mid 90s, a degree or so warmer Thursday and in the lower 90s Friday. Saturday’s high expected to be in the mid to upper 70s. And, yes, we do need rain.
Keep hearing folks mention seeing bears in some areas of the county, as well as deer, throughout the area. Bears and vehicles or deer and vehicles are a bad combination.
In some areas of the state, state agencies are using drones for cleaner, safer spraying.
A reminder, tax payers who received a 6-month extension on individual income tax returns in April must file returns by Tuesday, October 15. Returns by mail need an October 15 postmark. E-filed returns must be sent electronically by midnight same day.
Crime seems to be increasing, or maybe the news coverage is better, at the local, state and national level.
Remember when I received my first drivers license, a long time ago … somewhere in the literature there was reference to the distance between vehicles … one car length for every 10 mph (?), example 50 mph, 5 car lengths between you and the vehicle ahead, I thought. I guess that is impossible in many situations today with crowded roadways, however, ‘ticks’ me off for someone to ‘tailgate’ about a car length behind me, especially on major roadways, with little traffic and for miles at the time, especially late night.
