Thoughts While ShavingThis election process is like no other in my lifetime.  Outside Internet news sources attempting to influence the election; numerous claims from years gone by; news sources that have never been heard from using catchy headlines on the Internet that are questionable for and against both major candidates, and more.  Seems to me, a normal campaign is stressful enough for candidates and voters.

One issue no creditable candidate or politician is talking about it is Social Security.  Wonder what the real story is and when will it be discussed.

Apple announced 3rd quarter earnings this week of nearly $47 billion, and talking heads have decided that’s not as much as it should be, and the stock price drops.  A company making nearly $78,000,000 every working day being put down by Wall Street.  Am I missing something?

Maybe I need help with my math.  My hand-held calculator did not have enough digits.

Cubs even World Series 1-1 with a 6-1 victory over the Indians last night.  Today is travel day.  Series resumes tomorrow night in Wrigley Park.

Has there ever been as much national political attention on NC as this year?  Seems someone representing one or both candidates, or the candidates themselves, are in the state, everyday.

A hearty salute to those still actively assisting citizens most hampered by the recent hurricane.  Some locals in the eastern (Rowan and surrounding areas) and western portions (White Oak and adjacent areas) of Bladen County are very busy.  NC Baptist are at work in some areas as well.

There are other areas of the county still attempting to recover and resume something that resembles ‘near normal’.

NCDOT still dealing with the most serious road and drainage issues.

Many looking for a treat, having been tricked by Hurricane Mathew.

In Bladenboro, the show goes on.  Best Fest goes on this weekend and BladenOnline has the complete line-up of activities. (10th Annual Best Fest on go for last weekend in October 2016)

I don’t know a lot about politics, but I can recognize a good party man when I see one.  Mae West

Politics is not a bad profession; if you succeed there are many rewards, if you disgrace yourself you can always write a book.  Ronald Reagan

America is still a land of promise, especially during a political campaign.  Alfred E. Neuman
