Thoughts While ShavingThe folks in Haiti have had more than their share of destruction, before they could recover from the last storm, they are dealt another blow.  What we can do is support efforts to feed them and assist them as they begin all over again.

Hurricane Mathew’s expected pass near our area is one seldom seen, if in fact the path predicted is followed.  It is now expected to come up the coast of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, then make a, U-turn and head south again.

We are still likely to have wind and rain, some forecast for as much as 5 inches of the wet stuff.

No school in Bladen Friday (tomorrow), most sports activities scheduled for Friday have been re-scheduled, some now planned for today.  Check our Sports section for John Clark’s updates.

The Bladenboro High school class of ’56 is planning a reunion, usual time, Thanksgiving weekend.  Details coming.

I was delighted to learn that all my shoes are in the closet or under my desk when I began a new day, this morning.  One of those dreams!….Not sure where, but folks were cooking outside.  For some reason I had two pair of shoes, lost three shoes and spent the night attempting to locate.  Actually did not sleep much, I thought, but long enough for a weird dream.

If you rise early, you know daybreak is arriving later.  I am now walking outside, not at 6 a.m., but shortly after daybreak, when motorist can see me wearing my white jacket.  I am seriously concerned about drivers who are texting.  Want to think DWI drivers are not likely to be traveling our roads at 7 a.m., or shortly after, and haven’t seen anyone I thought was texting.
