Thoughts While Shaving
Spread the love

Thoughts While ShavingLabor Day holiday approaching, rain is on the way and it’s politics as usual.

First things first.  Our presidential candidates of both major parties continue to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the truth.  Negative ratings are at an all-time high.  As of Tuesday, August 30, Hillary Clinton’s negatives were 54.7 percent, Trump’s ratings worse, at 59.6 percent.

Nationwide, one usually reliable source had favorable ratings for Clinton at 41 percent, 36.1 percent for Trump.  Some polls were closer.  And, one of them (Trump/Clinton) will most likely be our next president.

Sad.

I hope you will check FactCheck.org to compare the facts with what both candidates have said.  Need to check the site often.  Both candidates have a record of not always telling the whole truth.

Keep hearing Social Security is in trouble, read another article recently that indicates, serious head winds just ahead for the program and no one is talking about it.  Changes are needed and Congress, Democrats and Republicans, are failing to deal with the issue.

Rainfall is on the way.  Brings back memories of devastating rains about a year ago when farmers were unable to harvest some crops.

The direction of the approaching storm has changed a time or two, so stay tuned for updates.  We could see rain later today but it should become more intense Friday, Friday night and Saturday. Rainfall amounts are expected to be in the range of 5 to 8 inches in our area, wind gust expected to range as high as 43 MPH on Friday and Saturday.  Rainfall amounts and wind speeds based on info available as of 6 a.m. Thursday.

High School football games scheduled for Friday night have been re-scheduled for tonight.  Game time this year is 7 p.m.  In the past, games began at 7:30 p.m.
