Dublin Peanut Festival is set for Saturday, September 21st. The beauty queens have already been crowned. Saturday’s festivities begin with the Annual Parade at 10 a.m., followed by festivities, all day long. Hope you can attend.

Clarkton area folks are making final plans for the Clarkton Farm Fest event, on Saturday, September 28th. Youth baseball, a dance, featuring music by The Pink Slips Band…a silent auction, concessions available, all taking place at the Clarkton DYB Complex. Gates open at 6 p.m.

And, folks in Bladenboro will celebrate Beast Fest late October. More later.

Who says there is nothing to do in Bladen?

Bladen Community College History Department presents ‘Young, Black, and at Work in Pinehurst: A look at caddies during the early 20th century’. It’s today, (Tuesday, September 17th) 11 a.m. at the college library. Dr. Ryan K. Anderson, Professor of History, American Studies Coordinator at UNC-Pembroke will be the presenter. All are invited.

A note from the Sherriff’s Department, con artists are working the area, claiming to have a warrant if you do not pay up. Call the Sheriff’s Department to report suspicious activities. Help catch the crooks.
