Thoughts While Shaving for September 20

Ever misplace your credit card, think it is lost or stolen? … spend some time looking for it and just before you report it, discover it, right where you ‘put it’ after you used it last. Great feeling!

How about a good night sleep, a few pleasant dreams, and wake 2 or 3 hours later than usual? Another great feeling.

Discussing church revivals recently with a family member … when was the last time you attended, even heard of a revival? When I was a youngster, if my memory is correct … there was a spring revival and a fall revival. …. And, if there was one scheduled today, how many would attend? My guess, not many. Too busy.

And, if a church member ‘got out of line’ and was not living as expected, he or she would be brought before the church leaders or congregation and … examined, questioned and could lose their membership. Never hear of that today … good? or bad? … not sure, but different. Who among us wants to be questioned or the questioner? Not me.

Younger folks have no idea what I am talking about … understand.

Bladen is a busy place … check events for this weekend and for the remainder of the month.

Dublin Peanut Festival tomorrow (Saturday). Always a fun event. Parade ‘kicks off’ at 10 a.m.

The weather should be great for any outdoor activities for the next week or so. Temps early this AM, mid 50s and highs today near 80 degrees … with sunny skies.

“Little League baseball is a very good thing because it keeps the parents off the street.” Yogi Berra

“I’m lucky. Usually, you’re dead to get your own museum, but I’m still alive to see mine.” Yogi Berra
