Speaking of football, West Bladen’s Brandon Council is expected to start for #8 Auburn U vs # 25 Kentucky. The big man transferred from Akron where he graduated, but has 2 years of eligibility remaining due to injuries and redshirting. He is set to start at right offensive guard for the Tigers. The game will be telecast on SEC Network at 12 noon (EST).
Sunday, former East Bladen player Larrell Murchison is on the roster of the Tennessee Titans (2-0) as they take on the Minnesota Vikings (0-2). Gametime is 1 p.m. (EST) on CBS. He played in his first NFL game last week, and hopeful of more action tomorrow.
Bladen County schools have been turning out some very good athletes, several now playing at the next level.
