Headline on Washington, D.C. Post … Sports page … “MacKenzie Gore rediscovers his mojo but the Nats fall to Marlins” … The Columbus County, NC, left-handed pitcher had a great night … but the team lost 4-3 … Again quoting … “Sixteen batters came and went before the Miami Marlins could reach base against Gore … He gave up one earned run and a walk with nine strikeouts, his highest total since mid-June.” His ERA for June was over 5, over 7 in July and 4 in August … One final note … he was perfect thru 5 1/3 innings. His fast ball was back in the 96 mph range, and his slider and curveball were very good vs Marlins … Great outing for Gore.
