Farmers are busy … in the middle of that huge dust storm is probably a corn picker … Hope the crop is OK, but production must be down some, due to lack of rain, during the growing season.

Plans for a new medical school were announced in April of this year that will be located in Cumberland County … Latest info … school plans progressing. Golden Leaf Foundation recently announced an $8 million grant for the effort. The organizers expect around 250 jobs when complete and will eventually graduate 120 doctors annually…
I love calling Bladen County home…
Had a few questions related to the son of our sister who has spent much of the last few weeks (months) walking the Appalachian trail from Georgia to Maine … over 2,000 miles. He is nearing the end of his journey … About 100 miles to go … He has been busy … was hired as an engineer(?) in one of the northern states and purchased a house while on his walk … He will have family waiting when he arrives, hopefully in the next few days … Time to go to work, after he baths and shaves…
