Thoughts While Shaving

Thoughts While ShavingDeliberations continue today in Bladen County, in a case that could have state-wide implications.  It relates to a business in Bladen County with gaming machines in a store being operated by Richard Taylor, but it is so much more.  As one of my friends stated, “It’s about a multi-million dollar business getting a foothold in the region and whether it’s going to be legal or not.”  Interestingly, BladenOnline is the only news source covering the trial being prosecuted by DA Jon David.  The jury began deliberations late last week, a verdict could come anytime.  BladenOnline will be there.

We had over 6 inches of rain in our community late last week, but there was very little standing water a short time later.  The ground was so dry, most of the rain apparently was absorbed quickly.

First of the month governmental meetings are scheduled for today and over the next few days.

Political rhetoric will be picking up over the next 63 days.  The General Election is set for Tuesday, November 8, 2016.

North Carolina is getting much attention by the 2 major political party candidates and their supporters.

As a young man, I enjoyed the political arena, did not mind mixing-it-up with those who had a different idea of how government should be run.  No more.  Be happy when it is over.

I do appreciate candidates who are willing to put themselves through the process.  Would be bad if no one was interested.

Bumper stickers:

Annoy a politician today. THINK!

The trouble with political jokes is that they get elected.

Vote Democrat—-it’s easier than working!

Vote Republican.  It’s easier than thinking!
