At 4:30 AM, the temp in our area was 52 degrees … With February 2021 nearing the end … Checked the average high for March is 71, compared with 63 in February and the average low for March, 42 degrees … February is 34 … Average rainfall for both months is in the 3.5 to 4 inch range…
Today’s forecast, much like yesterday, maybe a bit cooler. Sunny, with a high near 69, light and variable wind … about as good as it gets. Tonight, partly cloudy, with a low around 40. Friday, rain likely, mainly after 5 p.m. … Low around 45 and wind gusts in the 16 mph range … 60% chance of rain. Weekend looking good Saturday and a 40% chance of rain Sunday…
Getting closer to planting time … I love springtime … so thankful I will not be breaking land with a 2 horse turn plow … Farmers today enjoy the comfort of a tractor, complete with air or heat, radio, etc. Gotta love it to do it … and most farmers do … and we love what they produce … fresh corn, sweet potatoes, peanuts and delicious blueberries … mmmmm good.
Saw complaints recently on Facebook about the condition of NC 242 highway between US 701 and Bladenboro 211 bypass. I agree, had a good day if you can miss half the potholes…
Happy to see we will have less restrictions on restaurants, sports events, etc. … effective Friday (tomorrow).
High School football Friday, February 26 for some area teams, but not Bladen teams. Whiteville at East Bladen has been postponed because Whiteville athletics is under COVID-19 quarantine. West Bladen’s game at South Columbus that had been rescheduled for Saturday also has been called off, but it doesn’t appear COVID related.
