Three Bladen County basketball players – two from West Bladen and one from East Bladen – have been named to the 2016-2017 All-Four County Boys Basketball Team.

Sayaun Dent and John Bowen from West Bladen and Eian Hines from East Bladen were chosen to the Boys All-Conference team.

Dent led Coach Travis Pait’s Knights to an 18-10 record by scoring a team-high 17.5 points per game. The 6-3 senior scored in double-figures in 27 of 28 games and racked up 20 or more points in ten games. His season highs were 25 against West Columbus in December and 24 against East Bladen in the Four County Tournament.

Bowen, a 6-8 senior with 3-point shooting range, pumped in 16.4 ppg and posted double-figure points in 24 of 28 games. He scored 20 or more points in 9 games. His season-high was 29 against Wallace-Rose Hill, but he reached the 20-point mark in 5 of his last 7 games.

The high-flying Hines averaged 16.7 ppg to lead the scoring for Coach Kenzil McCall’s Eagles. Hines racked up double-figure point totals in 20 of his 23 games. The senior guard scored 20 or more points in 8 games. His season-high of 26 points to led the Eagles to an 83-80 win over West Bladen in the Four County Tournament.

Clinton’s Jeremiah Pope was named the Boys Player of the Year for the Four County Conference.
