East Bladen senior Sincere Smith and junior Greyson Heustess and West Bladen senior Scott Bowen have been named to the All-Three Rivers Conference baseball team.

Smith, who was drafted in the 32nd round for the Major League Baseball draft by the New York Yankees, led the Eagles with 27 hits, scored 22 runs and hammered 6 doubles and 2 triples.

Season highlights for the Eagle shortstop included a 3-3 game with a triple, 2 runs batted in and 3 runs scored in a 12-10 win at Fairmont. Smith batted 3-3 with 3 runs scored in a 7-4 victory at East Columbus. He also knocked in 3 runs with a 2-2 game against South Robeson.

Heustess slammed 24 hits that included 6 doubles and 2 triples. The Eagle centerfielder knocked in 19 runs and threw out the tying run at the plate to preserve a 7-6 win over Red Springs.

In a win over West Bladen, Heustess batted 3-4 with a triple, 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored. In the win over Red Springs, he batted 3-4 and scored 3 runs. Heustess drove in 4 runs with a double and a single in a win over South Robeson.

Bowen cracked 18 hits and walloped 6 doubles for the Knights. Batting highlights included a 2-4 performance with a double and an rbi against East Bladen, a 2-3 game with a double against West Columbus, 2-2 with a double versus East Columbus and 2-3 with 2 rbi’s against Red Springs.

On the mound Bowen fired a 2-hit shutout and struck out 15 batters in a 2-0 win over East Columbus. In a 4-2 West Bladen win at East Columbus, the Knight righthander allowed only 3 hits and no earned runs while striking out nine.
