Cereca Newkirk, Johnice Autry and Vicki Pait were honored at the Bladen County Board of County Commissioners meeting on Monday evening, June 19th. All three county employees received honorable mentions, cheers and a plaque for their years of service to Bladen County before their retirement beginning on July 1st, 2017.

Cereca Newkirk, started in 1986 as a CNA and advanced to a Community Services Technician and then moved to social services. Newkirk was described as a wonderful employee and never receiving any complaints about her.

Newkirk said she will miss her co-workers but she has her granddaughter now. Then her granddaughter joined her for a photo.

Johnice Autry, celebrating 27 years with Bladen County Cooperative Extension started in 1990 as a Community Service Coordinator. Autry was commended for receiving several awards and being a member of a whole host of professional organization while working with the county. She was thanked for her dedication to the youth and the community.

“It has been an honor to serve Bladen County. Thank you for all the years, it’s been a good ride.” Autry said.

Vicki Pait, has been a Certified Nursing Assistance with the county since 2003.  Her dedication to her job was applauded during the meeting.

Pait said, “It’s been pleasure to serve this county. I have been working to improve lives and I hope that is what I continue to do even during retirement.”
