A trio of Bladen County senior volleyball players – AnnaGrey Heustess and Acee Campbell from East Bladen and West Bladen’s Emily Young – have been named to the All-Southeastern Athletic Conference volleyball team.
Heustess led the Lady Eagles in service points (175), aces (49) and blocks (29). Heustess also banged in 99 kills and totaled 37 digs and 13 assists as East Bladen posted a 12-7 record, captured 2nd place in the SAC-7 and earned a NCHSAA playoff spot.
Campbell hammered in a team-high 132 kills and knocked in 126 service points, 35 aces and 10 blocks. The hard-hitting southpaw also contributed 31 assists and 28 digs.
Young posted team-high totals for the Lady Knights in assists (64), service points (85) and aces (36). The versatile Young slammed in 68 kills, 13 blocks and had 188 attacks.
Conference champion Midway finished with a 26-1 record and had the SAC-7 Player of the Year McKenzie Williams and the SAC-7 Coach of the Year Susan Clark.
