Three Columbus County men have been charged with selling illegal CD’s and DVD’s in Whiteville following an undercover operation by several law enforcement agencies, says Alcohol Law Enforcement Special Agent David Hales.

Garry Tyrell McCray, 52, of Whiteville; Mark Anthony McCray, 25, of Chadbourn; and Robbie Stephens, 44, of Cerro Gordo, have each been charged with two counts of felony fail to disclose origin of recording, one count of felony criminal use of counterfeit trademark (manufacturing) and one count of felony conspiracy, according to an ALE news release.

During the monthlong investigation, agents purchased several illegal CD’s and DVD’s from a building at 1862 Chadbourn Highway in Whiteville, Hales said. A search of the building found more than 22,000 counterfeit CD’s and DVD’s valued at more than $300,000.
