1. Bladen County property taxes are due today. A 2% penalty will be assessed beginning Tuesday. Tax Administrator Renee Davis said about 76% of taxes had been collected as of Thursday. Taxes can be paid by check, credit card or debit card. The tax office, which is located adjacent to the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown, will be open today. Taxpayers also can pay online online at bladeninfo.org and clicking on tax administration or by phone at 877-369-0025. A transaction fee will be charged for paying by credit card. The tax office’s phone number is 862-6730.

2. Final spring term registration for Bladen Community College classes will be held today and Tuesday. Counselors and faculty advisors will be on hand to assist students. For information about all classes at Bladen Community College, call 910 879-5500 and speak with an advisor.

3. The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet today at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Room in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse. Valeria Peacock-McKoy, Persandra J. McKinley and Cynthina McKoy will be recognized on their recent retirements.
