1. East Bladen and West Bladen volleyball teams are scheduled to open their seasons today with home matches. West Bladen hosts West Columbus and East Bladen hosts South Columbus. Play begins at 4:30 p.m.
2. Pets Christmas Costume Contest: The Bladen County Animal Control Board fundraiser to benefit the Dr. N.W. Midyette Animal Shelter in Elizabethtown. Entries accepted through Dec. 27. 3. Holiday Lights Map: The Bladen County Public Library is putting together a holiday lights map that will give families an easy way to take a self-guided tour. If you are decorating the outside of your home, business or organization for the holidays, email kedwards@bladenco.org with your address by Tuesday, Dec. 1. The map will be published by Friday, Dec. 4.
