WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), a member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, attended a committee hearing examining the Equifax cybersecurity breach and questioned former Equifax CEO Richard Smith about the recent breach affecting 145 million Americans, including an estimated 4,520,059 North Carolinians. During his questioning, Senator Tillis urged Mr. Smith to release the stock disposition history of the executives who sold their stock before the breach became public and ensure Equifax is doing everything they can to make the process moving forward is as easy as possible on the consumers affected.
