Sen. Thom Tillis

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This weekend, U.S. Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) will lead a bipartisan delegation to participate in the 10th annual Halifax International Security Forum in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Tillis and Shaheen are the co-chairs of the recently re-established Senate North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Observer Group.

They will join 300 delegates from around the world to discuss strategic cooperation on common global security goals. From 2009-2016, the Congressional Delegation was led by Senator John McCain. Mrs. Cindy McCain will present the inaugural John McCain Prize for Leadership in Public Service at this year’s Forum to the People of the island of Lesbos, Greece.

Senators Chris Coons (D-DE), John Boozman (R-AR), Deb Fischer (R-NE), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Mike Rounds (R-SD) and Roger Wicker (R-MS) will participate in the bipartisan delegation. A bipartisan group of members from the U.S. House Representatives led by Congressman Mike Turner (R-OH) will also participate in the forum.
