In Minor League action, the top-seeded Twins defeated the fourth-seeded Blue Jays, and the regular-season runners-up Tigers eliminated the sixth-seeded Cardinals. The Twins and Tigers will play Saturday at 12 noon for the tournament title.
In Major League play, the regular-season champion Athletics defeated the fourth-seeded Cubs, and the regular-season runners-up Astros defeated the third-seeded Braves. The Athletics and Astros will play Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Major League tournament title game.
