The National Weather Service has issued a high wind advisory until 3 p.m. for Bladen County.

A tornado watch and severe thunderstorm warning issued earlier Monday were both canceled by 8:17 a.m.

The strongest winds are expected to occur Monday morning from the west-southwest at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service. After a lull, gusty northwest winds will develop Monday afternoon.

It’s suggested to use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle, and to also secure outdoor objects.
